"If you haven't heard, I have been
diagnosed with terminal cancer of the pelvis and spine, probably coming from
lungs or stomach. Considering my years in the Fire Dept. and my years of
smoking it is truly a warning to others who might night have the little push
to really stop smoking.
I just learned of this yesterday,
although they have been trying to pin it down for 6 months, I have
taken the approach of OH WELL! SO WHAT'S NEXT. The prognosis is 2 years and
I will most likely be leaning on a few brother firefighters for assistance
here and there, so when you see my number on your caller ID don't let
it keep ringing, God don't like ugly. Seriously I am doing fine with things
but just thought I would let you know as you talk or e-mail most retired
guys. I have a good core of family and friends so things should go okay.
The Dr.'s are beginning aggressive
chemotherapy on Monday, which should be interesting considering the
extensive heart drug treatment I am already on.
I'll keep you updated."
